Wire Prefeeding Systems
Mechtrix Wire Prefeeding Systems, also known as Wire Feeding Systems or simply Wire Prefeeders, are machines designed to remove wire from reels or rack systems for immediate use by a wire processing machine to help streamline your wire processing operations.
MPF-40 Wire Prefeeding System
The MPF‐40 Prefeeder has been designed and developed to handle the wire prefeeding needs of the newest generation of both benchtop and fully automatic wire processing machines.
Mechtrix has incorporated over 30 years of proven robust design features, enhancements, and customer feedback into this new simple to operate prefeeder. The MPF‐40 features the Mechtrix Auto‐Tune™ motor speed control system that automatically adjusts the feed speed of the prefeeder by continually monitoring the speed and length of the wire being withdrawn from the draw source. This frees up the operator from having to make any adjustments while running the machine.
A High/Low selector switch allows for the top speed of 6.5m/second to be reduced to 3.0m/second for more precise feeding control of shorter wires or for feeding benchtop wire processing machines. The prefeeder has been designed to handle a wide range of wire reels up to 22” wide x 34” in diameter and weighing up to 400 lbs. The prefeeder is also perfect for pulling wire directly from a wire rack with multiple wire reels for even faster set‐up and change over.

MPF-45 Wire Prefeeding System
The MPF-45 Wire Prefeeding System is designed for de-reeling large wire or cable up to 1″ (25.4mm) in diameter. The MPF-45 removes the wire or cable from a rack system or external reel stand and makes it immediately available to the wire processing machine. The MPF-45 features a combination pneumatic wire dampening and draw source tensioning system, so only a single setting needs to be set based upon the stiffness of the wire being run.

MPF-32 Wire Prefeeding System
The MPF-32 Wire Prefeeding System is an entry level machine specifically designed for use with small wire reels or wire rack systems. Designed for use with bench top-mounted wire processing machines. The prefeeder removes the wire from the reel and makes it immediately available to the wire processing machine. The MPF-32 features an adjustable draw source tensioning system and a dual speed range for processing very short wire lengths.
- Mechtrix Auto-Tune® proprietary prefeeder motor speed feed control system automatically adjusts the prefeeder’s operating speed by electronically monitoring the position of the accumulation pulleys.
- High / Low Speed Selector Switch allows the operator to easily choose between a top feed speed and a low speed depending on the wire processing application being run.
- Adjustable Back-Tension Draw Source makes up to 5m of wire immediately available for the wire processing machine at a constant tension.
- Multi-Position Wire Reel holding shaft set-up is included to allow for multiple wire feed paths and wire reel sizes.
